Alachua Pumpkin Festival

Off Highway 441 into a little pumpkin patch in the city of Alachua, First United Methodist church volunteers gathered Friday morning to welcome groups of local students and families on the Alachua Pumpkin Patch.

More than 2,000 pumpkins of a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes as well as hayride tractors filled the field. There were also other fun activities offered, such as tic-tac-toe and slingshots.

It happens to be the same day I decided to practice my camera skills with a DSLR, so the video was recorded in high quality; quick edits were made through "Velocity."

The woman whom I interviewed was Youth Coordinator Chloe Campbell describing the variety of pumpkins offered. Sales will continue until Halloween October 31st, and what's so inspiring is when they told me the gain will support not only the church but also Native Americans who harvested them in New Mexico.

Hope you enjoy it....
