9th Annual McKenzie's Run
Saturday, November 17th is the 9th Annual McKenzie's Run in Jacksonville. The run is in honor of the Bolles School student who died of meningitis in 2010. The inspiring cause and burgeoning growth of the McKenzie Noelle Wilson Foundation really struck me.
3,400 runners participated in the 5K and 1-mile run at TIAA Bank Field. First-place winner Christopher McCaffrey told me he's proud that the organization could take something that was devastating and open up the opportunity for young people and other families to show support for the community, or as he termed it, "out of the ashes comes the Phoenix."
Unfortunately, I couldn't capture that glorifying moment when McCaffrey crossed the finish line, but all the other racers in this Snapchar video showed their heat wasn't any less intense.
